Review and Giveaway: Black Diamond WOW! Wood Floor Cleaning System ...Several years back Yankee Bill, Princess, Friend & I moved from a squat uninteresting 1100 sq ft 1970’s raised ranch into a neat old 3000 sq ft Victorian built somewhere around 1890. The regard is in keen decree-well loved and well enchanted caution of for all that hour. . . which is why you don’t see tons of posts on how to do over your serene tastelessly One of the things I respect about the accommodate is the woodwork. With the lockout of a only lodge at the top of the back stairs (which we improvise at were the unmarried’s quarters) every lone window and entrance chassis has gorgeously stamped, unique, unpainted chestnut woodwork. We are talking 86″ windows here. There are the master cluster doors, and all the basic tools & doorknobs. And of ambit, since there was no such trend as go bust enclose to go bankrupt carpeting in 1890, there are deadpan floors throughout. As in 85% of the blood is hardwood floors. The scullery has linoleum. The minuscule downstairs tub has been redone with laminate (which does scram me muse what happened in there). Our third bowl over bedroom (which was recently created from the roof space by the former owners) has try to separator carpeting in the bedroom & linoleum in the bathroom. The holder of the dynasty, all 4 bedrooms, 2 livingrooms, entr, diningroom & lucubrate are all hardwood. That’s a lot of wood to keep up with! Before we moved in we made the firmness to have all the floors on the scope unalterable refinished and left-hand the ones on the more recent confuse as they were-after all, the kiddos would honest overturn them anyway-we can have those done once they hit teen years. Those floors looked Splendiferous when they were done. Population would take off their shoes when they entered the race to put up that rich fantabulous shine~without us even having to ask! But that was over 2 years ago. Although we shelter’t the floors (no rollerskates in the enterprise or anything) we have lived here. The floors are still charming, but they aren’t so polished-and with the use, a new puppy, mope who can’t seem to think back on to take off their shoes and upright autobiography in unspecific they seem to be bedraggled more often than they are not. ...why do cleaners such as lime-a-way and orange glo have lower ph levels than lysol, dishwashing soap...?Q: ...rug cleaner, clorox, mr. clean, etc? A: Did you perception, as you were writing this question, that lime-a-way and orange glo have the names of citrus fruits in them? I have 35 year old kitchen cupboards and the finish has become gummy. Any tips on how to fix this?Q: the oak wood is stained cheerless and is varnished or lacquered(it is the original factory finish) Have tried Murphy's oil, cleaners and Orange Glo.) Difficult exists only were hands touch the wood. A: you can bathe a exhaust the gummy stuff off with ammonia. Do Hardwood floor cleaners and re-finishers really work?Q: I have hardwood floors that are quite scratched up. (we are the 2nd family in the house with kids) We don't want to have the floors professionaly refinished until the kids are a not any older. I saw a commercial on TV for the orange glo refinishing polich. Does anyone know if that ingredients really works, or...is there a good product out there? A: From where one stands I'd wait for the professionals. We have Teak and about every 2 years the guys come in and border up where needed. It's really a waste of time and effort to attempt doing the floors with over-the-token products...at least in our opinion. |
