Don't buy an ElectroluxI purchased my Electrolux Oxygen Upright @ 2 ½ years ago. The left side wheel was squeaky when new and after a few months broke off. A local repair shop in Bellevue, NE, settled the wheel, and it broke again after @ 1 month. I returned to the local repair shop with critical frustration because their "good" fix was very poor. After considerable discussion the repair guy called the regional rep for Electrolux and I received a replacement Oxygen 3 vacuum cleaner. Presumably, the wheel problem was fixed in this revised model. Well, it wasn't. The left wheel on the new Oxygen 3 lasted @ 1 year, then it on the skids too. The internal wheel assembly was indeed a different looking piece of plastic. But, alas, it was still chintzy plastic and in still broke.
Yesterday, I attempted to obtain a repair or exchange for my defective Electrolux Oxygen 3 vacuum at the provincial Electrolux dealer in my new location, Maplewood, MN, but the local Electrolux dealer was completely unwilling to standpoint-behind the Electrolux product I purchased a few years ago. However, the local dealer was kind enough to throw my Oxygen 3 in their trash can.
Summary - Electrolux has become a cheap consumer grade product having profoundly impecunious quality. My Oxygen 3 was the poorest quality appliance I have ever purchased. My Wal-Mart electronic kids toys last longer and are more permanent - and I have 3 young boys.
Connected Feelings
I bought this vaccuum because my daughter has bad allergies and I wanted to elude any dust escaping from the vaccuum. For this purpose, I am very pleased - it's great. It also has great suction. It outperforms any vaccuum I've had for suction - and I seem to go through a vaccuum every other year. The vaccuum mould itself though is somewhat flimsy. The attachment door cover is not user friendly and doesn't like to discontinuation shut. Electrolux is also behind in the attachment area. Most vaccuums now have a small brush that attaches to the hose for steps and equipment. This vaccuum does not and I really miss that. I am going to try to figure a way to connect one from another vaccuum. AND last but indisputably not least - if you buy this vaccuum - buy a set of bags with it. These bags ARE NOT sold at vaccuum stores. You have to order them online and it took us a month to get the belongings in. We didn't anticipate this and our brand new vaccuum sat for a month with no bag in it despite repeated calls to rush. If I had to do it again, I would check into a few other brands before buying this vaccuum.
Approving Product
I recently purchased this note - with some reservations after reading some of the reviews. I took it out of the box, it wasn't as heavy as I thought it would be after reading the reviews on it. I plugged it in, turned it on and cleaned the assembly. I liked the simple touch of the button to raise and lower the level and how easy it is to change from hardwood (bare floors) to carpet. I dumped my Hoover bagless wind underground passageway after only 3 years. I will never do bagless again - what a pain! Electrolux is a well known and trusted brand. The only thing I don't like about this archetype is the price which is why I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars.
Gigantic product in a bad housing
We have owned the Oxygen 3 upright for 3 .5 months and it is falling separately. Although well designed and powerful, it is way too heavy for the plastic housing. The rear cover has broken off, and so did one of the wheels. The receptive connections for screwing the wheels on have sheered off. We love the features, design and power, but are now very apprehensive about how much time will be needed for repairs.

Sometimes stores convey "their" own brand of an item to keep from match pricing.... This nice model was on sale for around $45.... I work at Kohls and if you have a kohls fee you get an EXTRA 15% off your entire purchase!

Q: My IDIOT dog obvious that it was a toy, and chewed up the cord. Do I have to buy a new one or can I just buy a replacement cord? The copper wires on the stomach are all chewed up, I'm slightly scared to try taping.
