Ready with a heater for boosting performance, this upright machine deep-cleans carpets and rugs by forcing a hospitable solution of water and cleansing concentrate into fibers and vacuuming up the dirty solution. The 1440-watt utensil also scrubs bare floors (but not hardwood floors) and cleans stairs, upholstery, car interiors, and even mattresses with onboard tools that spray dirty surfaces and crevices with the tidiness solution. A powered hand-tool that either brushes or vacuums at the flick of a switch accompanies the engine and attaches to a flexible accessories hose. The heater's advantage over ordinary machines is that it increases the maintenance solution's temperature (up to but not exceeding 180 degrees F) and prevents the solution from cooling. Here's how the mechanism works: A plastic bottle for filling with Bissell's Fiber Cleansing Formula (not included) fits of laughter into the base. A removable 1-gallon tank contains a bladder to hold clean piss of superior for mixing with the cleansing concentrate. (Dirty water vacuumed by the machine collects around the bladder.) A dial offers three settings for a number of tasks: water-only, normal, and high traffic. A trigger on the machine's handle applies answer as desired. A flow-indicator spins when solution is applied and stops if the tank wishes refilling. There's a switch for applying solution through the tools: tough-stain brush, upholstery contraption, bare-floor head, crevice tool, pretreat wand. (The machine does not tenseness solution for tools.) The machine's 12-inch floating brush-roll impulsively adjusts for carpet heights. Safe for virtually all carpets and upholstery fabrics, the the briny deep-cleaning method can be turned off for dry-vacuuming delicate wool and Oriental rugs. The utensil quickly assembles in five steps, using two bolts and nuts and two Phillips-head screws (all included). An peculiarly understandable assembly/instruction booklet accompanies the machine, which carries a 1-year undertaking against defects.

Cleans elevated . . . but quits spraying on third use
This manufacture worked very nice the first two times I used it. Then, like so many other customers, my unit quit spaying. True enough, I took mine apart like those before me, and the heater was plugged up with lime and calcium. Terrible conceive of flaw. Rather than attempting to fix it, I bypassed the heater with a piece of my own tubing. It works great now, minus the "dividend-hot" water. If you buy this, use ONLY distilled water in the one gallon tank. The manufacturer should have thought of this. One nice item I will say about the 1699. . . it IS powerful and picks up a lot of deep down dirt.

Bissell 1699-C Steam Cleaner No Vastness
As a few others have mentioned, when this entity is working, it works well. We have had this unit for about 2 years now. Have used it twice. No problems until the other day - no spray from the nozzles at the confound level when pulling the trigger - but the hand tool spray was working. The heater (to be found behind the on/off switch - 4 screws & 2 bolts/nuts) was plugged. I dug out the crap at the inlet refuge with a small nail & blew air until it flowed out the outlet port. Hooked it back up & now it's working well. I'm wavering to use the heater though for fear of it clogging again, but at least I know what to do.

Significant Features. Cheap Manufacturing.
I bought this engine because I have always owned Bissell products. I started to clean my carpets with it and it stopped dispensing the cleaner after about 30 minutes of use. I called Bissell who sent me a new slot machine, and that one never worked at all. I took the machine back to retailer and will not buy another Bissell again. Bissell wanted to keep sending me parts rather than have me take back my machine, lice-ridden service. Also, I had to keep filling the bladder with water, it would use a ton of water on a very small amount of carpet.

I've owend my Bissell DigiPro for over a year...
And I have good-looking much liked every single thing about it until last week. Let me start by saying I did not buy this vacuum here, I bought it at Walmart. My last straight up and down vacuum broke and I was adamant about getting a canister vacuum due to hardwood and carpeted floors, light preponderancy, and easier carrying up stairs. (The uprights are so damn heavy and my parents loved their Bissell canister vac from the 90's) I didnt exceptionally have any issues with this vacuum over the past year and a half. We have dogs and cats, no issues with sucking power or clogs. We have hardwood, doormat, tile, and stairs...no issues with ANY of those surfaces. With this vacuum I practically threw my brooms away. HOWEVER...last week my Bissell ruined. I knew it was going to happen, I could tell. Certain pieces on this vacuum are FLIMSY AND PLASTIC when they should be metal, etc. The vacuum bankrupt where the "Pole" meets the "Foot" (foot meaning the flat part where the brushes are). I wasnt vacuuming under anything, or around anything. It wasnt "knocked" or "hit" I was upstanding vacuuming low carpet and the plastic literally snapped. It snapped below where the pole connects to the foot so the cablegram that connects them is still in tact but the pole and the foot have sharred plastic around them and no tape or glue will put it back together. Called Bissell and was told I needed to repay the Pole for $43.99 and the foot for $64.99, since both pieces obviously snapped apart, totaling $108.98. I valid dont know that it's worth it. I wasnt blown away by this vacuum, although I had no real issues with it, my old decent did clean a little better. I will take my $108.98 and go buy a crap vacuum from Walmart...since they all seem to be disposable these days anyway. BISSELLS Legions: [...]

Unfortunately, this offering does not SUCK.
When my honest vacuum died after I had replaced 95% of my carpet with hardwood, I thought a cannister vacuum would be a better pick. I have two other Bissell products (the Pro Heat 2X carpet cleaner, and the SpotBot) and have been happy with the performance of both. Unfortunately, the DigiPro did not material up to my expectations. There are some nice features, like the telescoping feature of the wand, and the unit is less cacophonic that the old upright. And I sort of got used to the heavy wand and the clunkyness of it. But now I find that the genuine Bissell vacuum bags have such a transparent built-in gasket, that air leaks in at that point and there is no suction at the end. Bissell customer support was not helpful and are not au fait of any problems. I will try to find the non-Bissell vacuum bags that I bought once before that had a stronger gasket, and save my pennies for a new vacuum that actually does suck.

Hoover 12 amp is excel.
This is not a bad mcahine but does not have enough suciton power. I initially opted for this one becuase it has a powered bracken but the suction let me down. HEPA filter is nice but I would prefer more suction and use a HEPA BAG.
Not a RECO.

Abhorrent Vacuum, Waste of Money!
My strife and I purchased this vacuum probably four years ago. At first we thought it was great, worked good and was easy to use. Over mores, however, I've become less and less enamored with it. Let me give some examples.
First, it does clog very easily because of the design. Secondly, I've found that there are issues with keeping a passable connection between the hose and the canister section. As you move around with it, it tends to try and yank itself out, resulting in constant and frustrating 'brown outs' where you lose power to the sweeper (and the light).
Another thing I don't like is the suction. It starts off melodic good, but it drops off pretty quick and towards the end, when the bag is filling up, it's pretty much useless. And no, the HEPA purify does not work very well at all on this unit, it blows the majority right back out. I don't personally use this feature, or care about it I surmise I should say, so it didn't matter to me. If it matters to you, avoid this unit like the plague.
Finally, very likely the worst thing, is that the hose is constantly kinking itself, becoming twisted (to where it will keep trying to kink until you untwist it) and so on. The last straw for me was when the hose unambiguously separated from the handle without warning. One minute I'm vacuuming, the next I hear a suction noise and see that I'm holding onto a handle where the hose is dangling out the end by a thread (the piece that has the wiring in it).
I got a couple years of utilization from this unit, and it does vacuum, but it's got too many imperfections to it. I would never buy this vacuum again and I'd strongly advise anyone here to carefully read all these negative reviews, look at all the unswerving problems (especially the hose!) and steer far clear of this thing.

Doormat attachment clogs easily
The doormat attachment has clogged twice in the handful of times I've used it. The first time, I had to take off six screws to unclog. The twinkling time, I managed to clear it with a long screw-driver and the wand was also clogged. My 15-yr old Hoover picked up haler.

Regard it!
We are very ecstatic with this item. We have two dogs and regularly vacuum. I was surprised how much hair this machine pulls out of the carpet, although we vacuumed over the compass right before using it. It also seems that our allergies are nearly gone, ever since we used it in our bedroom. This machine was recommended to me by a playmate and I can only agree.

Don't tergiversate to buy it!
Bissell ProHeat 2X Single out Pet Upright Deep Cleaner, 94003
K. Hartman gave a terrific review and detail info about it.
After reading several of the reviews I resolute to purchase it and couldn't be more pleased. I was apprehensive about buying it but after purchasing and using it, there was no reason to be.
Construction is easy as most of it is already put together.
The water tank comes off very easily. Filling the tank is easy and the influence is easy to carry to the machine when refilling. It does seem strange that the same tank is used for the pure as the dirty water, but the clean water in the bladder is kept completely separate from the unclean water resevoir. Easy to empty and easy to rinse it out and dry wipe when done with it. It is also easy to see when the dirty tank is swamped. I even emptied sooner than I needed to and then just continued with what clean water was left.
There are stains in our doormat and I used the cleaner first without pretreat and was surprised what it did get out. I kept going over the area several times and it did ease get most of the stain out. I am going to pretreat and then clean it again in that area to see if more will come out. It did a super job of taking out what it did because the discolour has been there for years during my husband's long term illness.
I think the microban is a plus for this typeface of machine. Glad I waited and bought it with the microban.
Be aware if you want to clean unalterable surface floor there is an additional attachment to purchase at the Bissell website and you also need the hard top solution for the cleaner. Refer to manual for details. Attachment is $5.00 +shipping at the but of this review.
It does have weight to it but I do think that is a plus for the machine. It is not overly heavy to deviate someone from buying it.
It is easy enough to use and I am so glad I didn't rent the rug doctor again (although the rug doctor does a wonderful job), I like having this in my home for convenience of using anytime.
I will have to wait to review it for long administration conditions usage, but as of now I have no regrets.

Heraldry sinister too much water in carpet & not well designed
the article basically works and it does make the carpets a lot cleaner but my 2 major gripes are
1. It formerly larboard too much water in the carpet. after a week the carpets appeared dirty again. I think the dirty freely that is remaining works its way back up to the top as you walk on it. I estimate it only picked up 30% or 40% of the water I put down. I tolerate that maybe I should have walked slower when doing the suction pass(es)
2. It is impossible to knwo when you are out of thoroughly water! you cant really see it or feel it. for a few bucks more they should have added some kind of indicator feature. this to me , was the chief flaw

Cleans superiority than a professional service.
I flaming in an urban basement apartment with large windows facing the street. In addition there are four cats (hairballs). I habituated to to have one of those shop vacuum types with the long hose that hooks to the tap and was a giant pain to use with very poor interpretation. This machine is phenomenal. It is very easy to use and clean. Storage is easy with a 19"x12" footprint. It pays for itself with one use and because of the corruption coming in from the street I have to use it once a month. It's been about a year and it works just like new. I highly underwrite it and would buy it again in a second.

Resoiling Is Inescapable
I bought this Bissell because our then 13 year old carpets were looking relatively bad. The first time I used it I spent over 5 hours doing our living room. It ended up looking degree nicely. So I cleaned the rest of house feeling quite proud, and it did look righteousness. About a month later, I noticed that the carpet was looking dirty again, almost as dirty as before. I knew that it had picked up the earth because the water was black when I had used it. So I read online that I had the rinse that carpet.
Anyway I just did my fourth steam maintenance in the year. Rinsed and everything. And you know what? Two weeks later it's already re-soiled. I vacuum everyday. I WILL NOT use the Bissell on that carpet again. I will be buying SEBO dry-maintenance. I will tell you how that. works.

Works enthusiastic - the first time. Wish I'd just rented instead of buying this!!
I bought this replica at a local retailer in April 2009, used it that same weekend, and had no problems with it. Had to refill the sea water a lot and clean off the brush/filters often, but it did a good job with the carpets, at least.
Unlike a vacuum cleaner, I don't need to use a acute cleaner like this often, so today is my first time using it again since that first purchase, just over a year ago. It's been stored safely to a different place in a corner of our mud room ever since. So I was more than a little upset when I went to use it this morning and found that it's not functioning properly anymore. Little to no piss of superior comes out the bottom, even after attempting all of the troubleshooting tips the manual suggests. An quick scan of the internet turns up a hotelier of other people with this very same problem. Water still comes out the handheld, so at least mine isn't entirely a piece of junk yet. But I don't about my back can handle cleaning an entire room with that little handheld attachment, much less the other four rooms I wanted to do today! The most skilfully part is that the warranty's just long enough so you won't likely know you've got problems with it again until it's too late to have Bissell take responsibility for it. So now I'm kicking myself for not absent to clean the floors two months ago, when my warranty expired. :(

Bad for low-bundle commercial carpets
I have second-hand one of these for three years and it does an adequate job on medium pile carpets at home. But on short, loop crowd on carpets at my office, it chatters badly when I push it forward across the carpet, and in the process lifts loops from the doormat, doing permanent damage. I contacted technical assistance and they instructed me to tighten screws securing part of the suction nozzle. This helped minor extent but the problem persisted. I would not buy a bissel again. I also find that it does not extract water from the carpet as well as an earlier replica Hoover I have used. Leave the floor wetter, and there's a bigger discrepancy in the amount of water put in and the amount of spotted water removed. I wouldn't buy again.

Not quality the money!
We purchased this vacuum cleaner to substitute for another bagless vacuum cleaner and relied on the brand name, but it was a huge disappointment! You have to empty the canister frequently during mignonne cleaning jobs, and it requires you to dig up into the top of the canister to release all the lint, hair and other items you normally immerse b reach during vacuuming. There was about 4" of trapped "sediment" in the top of the canister that required nearly taking the unmixed thing apart to clear. This scattered all kinds of heavy dust from the canister all over the put out. Not only is this vacuum extremely heavy and cumbersome, but it's not very useful. I wish I could find a replacement for my Phantom Lightning, which has a very probity small electric brush to do stairs. This vacuum cleaner only now comes out when we have no other choice! I wouldn't support it at all and am so disappointed that Bissell made such a piece of crap!

Buy this vacuum for someone you loathe. ZERO stars.
This is the worst vacuum I have ever cast-off and the engineers at Bissell responsible for it should be fired. It weighs a TON. The dust/hair tank is TINY. All 2,000 lbs of it falls over when I try to use the hose and destroys things. I had to rip the "eraser" that flips on the ground in front of it, off because it was useless and in the way. You can only vacuum one room at a time before emptying the tank since it's so piddling. The cord comes out of it practically at the bottom of it so you'll hurt your back constantly bending over for it. I just finished vacuuming and my BACK IS Tender. I want my money back! I want the last 20 minutes of my life back! I want my back back.
