Not the vacuum for assiduous floors
I bought this vacuum because it had been rated well for adamantine floors and pet hair. What no one tells you is that for hard floors you have to take the motorized head off and put the very-common-no-exciting-parts-head on. Well, geez, any vacuum can clean a hard floor once you do that but unfortunately, on this model, that rule constantly falls off while in use. With the motorized head on, it will not pick up sand off a tile floor. With the no-affecting parts head on, it still takes repeated passes over sand to pick it up. The no-moving parts fever pitch does work fine on pet hair on the tile floor, if it would stay on. This vacuum works high-grade on my rugs. The best thing about this vacuum was how easy it was to empty the canister and how easy it was to pull the canister around. The self-regulating cord winder is nice too. Otherwise this vacuum was inferior to my old Hoover upright in every way. I have returned the unit. Amazon was top about making that easy for me so I will do more research and order a different one from Amazon.

Really The BEST
It all started when I extremely to look at a Rainbow for a friend, and I saw how much dirt my old vacuum was missing. So I started looking for a replacement. I have an 18 month old and well-deserved knew that his runny noses had something to do with all that dirt that came from my carpet. Wanted to invest some liquid assets but not over $2,000 for the rainbow. Looked at several Dyson's, and did not feel that they were well built, felt cheap and way too much persuadable. So I looked at consumer reports and this was at the top of the list. I could not find one in a store so I bought this unit without seeing it or disquieting it out. I could not be happier with this vacuum. Picks up so much more dirt than my upright ever did, and is perfect if you have a lot of hard floors. My childs runny noses are now few and far between. I can also tick off there is a lot less dust in my home between vacuums. The warranty is 6 years, which is a full year longer than Dyson as well. Great support!!!!!

Bagless Hoover Very Worthwhile
This entity is everything I expected. It is a bit awkward due to the weight and size, but the vacuum ability well makes up for the added effort. It takes a infinitesimal more room for storage. The bagless feature is excellent and very easy to use.

Lots of cell for improvement
I have always been a canister vacuum ourselves. Had Sears Kenmore previously which lasted me 17 years with only one repair. Thought I would try another mark thinking the technology may have come a long way. Did a lot of internet research and chose this Hoover. However, I am not disproportionately impressed. Let's start with the pros: it's bagless... 6 yr. warranty... love the under effects swivel action... not too noisy... telescoping handle comes in to hand. The cons are: bulky to handle... not powerful enough... attachments don't click into hold (including beater bar) so they keep disconnecting from handle while vacuuming... floor brush has no locality to be held on canister... retractable cord has to be fed back in, does not retract on it's own... churn bar does not pick up everything on carpets even at the lowest setting. Having said all that, I think the negatives tip the scales the positives. It does an OK job but not great. I'm disappointed.

Dedicated Vacuum
I condign received this last week and it is a great vacuum. Great suction, does a really good job on carpets and superb on hardwood floors. It feels real solid.Pieces go together with a solid feel and it fair feels like quality. And it is VERY quiet, cannot believe how quiet it is for something so powerful. And it is so easy to cleansed out the canister. It comes off easy, you hold it over the garbage and push a button and bottom opens and discard falls out...so easy. I have owned several through the years mostly uprights, but wanted something that is good and will last. So far so good. And it has a very controlled look to it!!!

Superlative vacuum ever!
I purchased this one to put back an old Hoover bagless vacuum. I wanted to go back to a bagged machine as the bagless ones are so dirty to empty. The first in days of yore I used the platinum I couldn't believe the power behind such a lightweight machine! I have only been using it a month now, so I refuge't had to change the bag yet. The canister is great for using in the cars, on furniture, etc. The only drawback I can find is having to arbitrate to not having onboard tools, but the canister is easy to use. The main reason I went with this paragon was the fact it had a handle on the upright to be able to use it on stairs which it handles great! I would definitely interesting buying this one!!!

Affection this vacuum
I have had this vacuum for 6 months now and have had no problems. I in the old days had an Oreck. This Hoover out performs the Oreck for suction/pickup and is much quieter. I like it having 2 speeds and being self adjusting for elevation. The helping handle on it is handy too. I would definately recommend it. I'm very happy with it.

Can't Acceptable This Vacuum!
I bought this vacuum based on the definitive reviews posted. I received the vacuum, used it once and the bag filled up after I vacuumed the new carpet in a room. So, I misrepresented the bag and nothing was being sucked into the new bag. So, I made sure I installed the bag correctly (it was) and cleaned out the bottom thinking something was clogging it. I even used a light vacuum to make sure nothing was blocking the long tube leading to the bag. The only thing this vacuum did was spit matter out that I just tried to vacuum up. A total waste of money. After reading the negative reviews of like problems by other purchasers, I took it to a Hoover authorized dealer who confirmed my experience (he had 6 that were being repaired or traded in).

This vacuum sucks! ....In a solid way.
We had a $600 Miele canister vacuum for the last 15 years that definitely blew up. I started checking the ratings and reviews and decided an upright would be best for our lodgings since we don't have any stairs to deal with. I was kind of surprised at all the positive reviews for this little Hoover looking at how little it cost compared to our old vacuum, but they were right. Here is my review:
Pros: Very light and super tractable to use.
Very strong suction, does the job much better than our old expensive vac.
LED headlights. This is a really cool stress.
The cord is longer than our old vac.
The little canister is handy for little stuff like air conditioner vents and
top figure fans etc.(And it works well too)
The bag is big and easy to change.
Both vacuums have HEPA filters.
It takes up a lot less accommodation in the closet.
No more dragging the old ball and chain canister around anymore.
It cleans our house much advance and much faster.
Cons: When you are on tile or wood it's really loud, REALLY loud. Not bad at all
on doormat.
No automatic cord winder. No big deal, we can live without it.

My dearest love this item
May be I don't have enough jargon to explain how this vacuum does its job but it does it wonderfully. I couldn't expect that 209$ vacuum will clean better than that my parents have for 450$, but this teensy-weensy machine cleans much better and has more tools that very helpful. I tried to find appropriate vacuum for the budget I could yield and I was ready to pay 400$ to have good vacuum because my 6 month baby started to crawl. However all vacuums I liked were much more overpriced than 400. I'm so glad that I didn't bought 450 Miele I saved money to buy my shallow one something nice. Don't spend your time for more search buy this one!

Accomplished Vacuum
We've had this vacuum for almost 2 1/2 years now and it has held up well. One of the first things I noticed when I started using this vacuum was that it had wonderful suction. After about a year and a partly the vacuum seemed to be sucking up less and less. We decided to replace the filter several months ago and we bought the Hoover Wintunnel Bagless Canister HEPA Drain; Long-Life WASHABLE, REUSABLE, Compare With Hoover Part #59134033. It made all the difference. After the clean was replaced the vacuum performed just like it had when it was brand new. We really like the automatic twine recoil and the extension wand. The canister is easy to empty (though it does need to be emptied sufficiently often)and the filter can be cleaned. I would buy this vacuum again in a heartbeat.

So pleased I purchased this vacuum!
This vacuum is so peacefully to use and cleans like I can't believe. My house is 3000 square feet and we vacuumed for two generation after receiving it. We couldn't believe what it picked up that our Oreck left behind. May order a second one since our billet is two levels but it is easy to use on the stairs and carry up and down if need be. I highly recommend this vacuum.

This was the 4th vacuum that I've purchased in the last 4 years. The others were a assortment of 'uprights'. They were either too heavy or the brushes weren't very useful or the vacuum was easily clogged or just low vacuum. Wonderful for the evaluate, but do NOT wash the filter with water
The vacuum itself is a capacious product for the price, but I agree with some of the other commenters -- Do NOT wash the "washable" dirt cup HEPA percolate with water as described in the instructions! I washed mine a few times as well, and it started to emit a horrible scent after drying. I called Hoover and they sent me a courtesy replacement filter. From now on, I will clean with flattened air, not water.
